Ciudad de Buenos Aires is the capital and main city of Argentina. It is the most populated and biggest in the country. And we say big, in fact we mean huge: 48 districts are part of it. Each district with its own personality has a lot to offer indeed. Though it would be impossible to cover all in one day we will do our best!. In this tour you will have the chance to explore Buenos Aires essentials with a local and discover the secrets that will turn this experience into an unforgettable memoir.
You will start your circuit in Parque Lezama. Spanish conquerors first founded Buenos Aires in this point. It is located in an exceptional ravine. And the park has rustic trails, stone stairs and semi-subterranean facilities and lots of spots from which the river could be seen in the past.
A little bit further you will arrive in La Boca district: the tango birthplace. It is situated by the thinnest part of Rio de La Plata: Riachuelo, as locals call it. You will walk along Caminito street where houses of bright colors were once homes of Italian migrants arriving into the city. And you can´t skip a visit to the famous soccer stadium La Bombonera located nearby.
One of the oldest and most popular districts in town is San Telmo. Surley you will fall in love with its markets and cobblestoned streets. You will have the chance to meet some local artists who will tell you stories and myths in their workshops.
Quite the opposite, Puerto Madero is a surprise due to its modern skyscrapers, together with its restored dockyard promenade and the variety of bars and restaurants.
After a well-deserved break you will continue to Plaza de Mayo. Argentina´s past, present and future meet in this epic square. Pay special attention to the architectural surroundings like Casa Rosada, the metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo building for instance.
Your local host will take you just around the corner to see the Obelisco and will share what happened there 5 centuries ago. Colon Theatre stands a few steps beyond. It will take your breath away.
The end of your tour is the exclusive La Recoleta neighbourhood. Charming avenues, parks and palaces will take you back in time. Recoleta Cemetery is a MUST SEE: many personalities from the arts and politics rest in peace here, including the famous Evita.
